JAMMU, February 15: The Ex-Central Para-Military Forces Welfare Association (ECPMF) today highlighted its demands, including the development of separate rules for armed forces service and pensions.
Speaking to the media, Association President Shashi Kumar Sharma appealed to the Union Home Ministry to consider their request to develop separate rules on service in the armed forces and pensions instead of the CCS rules, in addition to exempting former para-military personnel from the new pension scheme, implementing the One Rank-One pension and extending all post-retirement benefits upon declaration of the status of former members of the Central Paramilitary Forces similar to former servicemen/widows of the Defense Forces and their dependents.
Sharma further reiterated the request for compassionate appointment for deceased persons and dependents who died/disabled/missing while on duty in their respective states, reservation of a 2% quota for wards of the CRPF, BSF, ITBP and SSB in government jobs and education J&K institutions, formation of Statutory Paramilitary Welfare Board similar to Kendriya/Rajya Sainik Board, appointment of high level committee headed by judge retired to study and recommend all the problems faced by the personnel of the Central Para-Military Forces (serving / retired) by taking appropriate measures, rules and regulations through an appropriate platform.
Others present at the press conference were Darshan Kumar Chauhan (General Secretary of the Association), Noor Mohd, Yash Paul, KS Bist, Harbans Lal and Chamil Singh.
