Hanoi (VNA) – The Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association held its fourth congress for the 202-2027 term in Hanoi on June 19.

Ambassador Nguyen Phuong Ngapresident of the Vietnam Union of Friendship Organizations (VUFO), commended the performance of the association, member of VUFO, during the mandate which has just ended.

She pointed out that people-to-people diplomacy is one of the three pillars of Vietnamese diplomacy and asked the Vietnam-Canada Friendship Association to continue to expand the network of its partners in Canada and to constantly renew the content and modes of operation towards concrete and concrete results in strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

She also suggested that the association involve young people in its activities.

Canadian Ambassador to Vietnam Shawn Perry Steil affirmed that the association has contributed to the development of Vietnam-Canada relations, noting that the association has coordinated closely with the Canadian Embassy in implementing common priorities. , in particular exchanges between peoples.

The congress elected a 41-person executive committee and Deputy Health Minister Tran Van Thuan as president of the association in the new term./.
