Marysville Business Association Scholarship winners will be honored on Wednesday

The Marysville Business Association (MBA) has partnered with the City of Marysville to develop a scholarship program in honor of Chad Flowers, Marysville city planner, who died suddenly on April 18, 2019 at the age of 40 years.

The program is funded by MBA members who purchase use of the poles in Uptown from May through November. The colorful banners displayed on the Uptown poles last year were funded by this program, and each company also had its logo hung on the plaque below the banners. This year’s banners and plaques will soon be displayed on the poles and monies raised from purchases will be used for scholarships in Mr. Flower’s name.

Because of this partnership, the MBA will award three 2022 Marysville graduates with scholarships of $1,000 each at the MBA meeting Wednesday at 8 a.m. at Elks Lodge #1130, 125 E. 5th St. Mr. Flower’s Widow , Jackie, and her mother Janet will be on hand to help present the awards.

The public is invited to this event and the MBA is proud of what this public/private partnership has been able to accomplish in three short years, with scholarships awarded each year to Marysville graduates.
