Nordic Flight Attendants Officially Join AFA

NMB certifies AFA as Representative

Washington, DC (August 17, 2022) – The National Mediation Board (NMB) this week certified by card check the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA as a union representative for flight attendants at Norse Atlantic Airways. Following the certification, the AFA-CWA released the following statement from International President Sara Nelson:

“We are delighted for the Norse flight attendants, and they are ready to vote on the historic tentative agreement we reached with Norse management last year. Nordic flight attendants strengthen our union, our career and our industry.

“Our agreement will immediately set a new standard in aviation, both in terms of content and how it was achieved. Nordic flight attendants will have the highest starting salary in the industry, rules strict working conditions and the knowledge that management worked to reach this agreement as a partner and not as an adversary.

“From the start, Norse management, led by CEO Bjorn Tore Larsen, has shown what is possible when you recognize the dignity of workers and the importance of a union in establishing pay and working conditions that benefit to workers and the company. We look forward to working together to implement the contract pending ratification and make Norse an example for the entire industry.

“Corporate cronies like Howard Schultz and Jeff Bezos would do well to end their union busting and instead work with workers to create healthy and prosperous workplaces. Whether they do it or not, workers in every industry will continue to fight for a fair deal and a voice at work, and our union will be there to support them.
