Park Ridge native Chris Hennessy, a lawyer with the Cozen O’Connor Chicago law firm, was recently appointed co-chair of the American Bar’s Litigation, Employment and Labor Relations Committee section. Association for the year of the bar 2020-21.
Cozen O’Connor announced on June 12 that Hennessy had been appointed co-chair of the committee. Prior to his appointment as co-chair, he wrote the committee’s newsletter.
According to Cozen O’Connor, the committee is “one of the country’s primary resources for all labor and employment disputes.”
Committee members cover areas such as: employment discrimination, whistleblower claims, restrictive covenant litigation, employment torts, electronic discovery and more.
At Cozen O’Connor, Hennessy is part of the litigation department. He has advised and assisted companies across multiple industries and worked with employers and employees, the firm said.
In addition to co-authoring two chapters of an Illinois construction law treatise, Hennessy has published non-compete agreements and classifications of employees versus independent contractors. He received his law degree from John Marshall Law School in 1996 and his science degree from Northern Illinois University in 1991.
Hennessy graduated from Maine South High School in 1985. He lives in Chicago with his family and has served as president of the Chicago Area Runners Association.
