The chairman of the MAPOLY association committee wants alumni to actively develop the alma mater

Moshood Abiola Polytechnic Mass Communication Graduate Association (MAPOLY) Mass Communication Graduate Association 1992 Planning Committee Chairman Abeokuta Dr. Femi Adefila highlighted the need for former students to play an active role in the development of their alma mater.

Adefila, in a statement released on Wednesday, said alumni associations could become the pillars on which the development of schools in the country would be based.

“The economic situation around the world is not favorable at the moment. The situation in Nigeria is particularly precarious. This has led to schools, especially government schools, being sidelined in the allocation of very scarce resources,” said Adefila, who is the founder of RAVE FM, Osogbo, Osun State.

“This placed the responsibility on former students to embark on a school rescue mission by gathering resources to support schools in areas of modern infrastructure and facilitating volunteers to help students bridge the gap in the transmission of essential knowledge. ”

He explained that this understanding informed AMACOG 92’s decision to renovate MAPOLY’s mass communication department’s television studio and install modern facilities in the studio that would aid students in quality learning.

The inauguration of the studio, he said, would take place on Friday, July 1, where several dignitaries, including Acting Rector, MAPOLY, Adeoye Odedeji; the Head of Department, Mass Communication Department, Mr. Lekan Togunwa; and the Olota of Ota, Professor Adeyemi Obalanlege, would be present.

Adefila added, “The unveiling of the departmental television station is part of the 30th anniversary of AMACOG members who graduated from Ogun State Polytechnic in 1992.

“We were also at the school five years ago to support the department in various areas as part of the need to reach out to our old school.”

He said the 30th anniversary celebration would end with dinner on Friday.
